In the energetic indie-pop album, Beck contrasts the thrilling emotions that come with relationships and adventures with the sadness that they inevitably bring. To embody this juxtaposition, I digitally painted past scenes from my life that filled me with freshness. While the vivid colors and loose brushwork exhibit optimistic energy, the haziness of the images represent imperfect recollection–a statement on how even the times we feel most alive become fleeting memories. All colors were mixed from a single digital palette made to reach the sky’s rich blues and the warm oranges of golden hour’s sunlit surfaces, deepening the set’s cohesion.
