Light and color are at the heart of any breathtaking moment, so why let that stop when you walk inside your front door? In this hypothetical ad for the Govee Glide light bars, I market the product by selling the experience. From morning warms to evening cools, leading right into the bedroom, I paint a picture (literally and figuratively) that appeals not just to gamers and movie-goers, but to anyone.
I wanted my use of color and light to create atmosphere. I looked to artists Syd Mead and Robert Valley for inspiration, as well as to film palettes and other mood lighting.
I wanted each scene to feel unique but, together, show a progression from morning to night through color temperature. I painted loosely to create a visual sense of freshness and spontaneity. The light fixture is abstracted into vertical bars that dynamically mirror the color palette of each moment before transitioning into their true form in the bedroom.
